Barnsbury Boy - Raymond Hunter
I am in the front row, fifth from the left, in the photo of the choir (see School Photos.) You may be interested to know that this choir sang as pert of a mass choir at the Royal Festival Hall; a great experience that I have never forgotten.
The 1961 photo of 3A (see School Photos) shows what would have been my class. I immediately recognised Denis Bailey (I think that he must have joined the school after the first year). We were at junior school together and were very close friends. I remember that Denis's dad took us took us to the Arsenal to see them play Preston North End, for whom the great Tom Finney was playing. About 35 years after I moved to Enfield, I attended a lunch in the City of London with some American insurance executives, who were
accompanied by a director of their London broking house. It was Denis Bailey! At that time, I was in my, then, professional capacity as a Lloyd's underwriter. We subsequently had dinner with our wives at our respective houses.
